Heat-recovery ventilation

A heat-recovery ventilation system reclaims up to 90 % of the heat in the exhaust air to pre-heat the incoming air — the result is constant air quality, energy savings and acoustic comfort. We design and install quiet systems certified Qualiventil.

Solutions

Several technologies,one study per building.

  • Mechanical ventilation with heat recovery (MVHR)

Stale air is extracted from wet rooms, fresh air is filtered and supplied to bedrooms and the living area. A heat exchanger transfers heat without mixing the streams.

    • 80 to 90 % recovery
    • F7 / ePM1 filtration
    • CO₂ / humidity control
  • Humidity-controlled extract ventilation

Cost-effective retrofit: extraction modulated by humidity, self-regulating air inlets at the windows. Ideal when MVHR is not feasible.

    • Lower investment
    • No supply ductwork required
    • Well suited to retrofits
  • Commercial & condominium ventilation

High-flow MVHR units for offices, warehouses, schools and condominiums. Airflow studies, per-outlet balancing, flow measurements.

    • Large air-handling units
    • Per-zone CO₂ control
    • SIA 382 compliant

Process

From the auditto commissioning.

  1. 01

    Air quality audit

CO₂ and humidity measurement, condition of existing ducts, technical constraints.

  2. 02

    Airflow sizing

Per-room sizing per SIA 382, distribution plan, choice of unit.

  3. 03

    Install & balance

Duct installation, connections, outlet balancing, commissioning.

  4. 04

    Maintenance

Annual Qualiventil contracts: filter changes, flow checks, disinfection.

Questions

What weget asked.

A question that isn't covered here? Ask us directly.

  • What is the budget for an MVHR system in a villa?

Between CHF 18'000 and 30'000 all-in for a 150 to 200 m² villa, depending on duct complexity and filtration level.

  • Do you need to redo the suspended ceilings?

In new builds and major retrofits, yes. In light retrofits, we favour discreet paths (flat ducts, custom housings) to minimise the works.

  • How loud is an MVHR unit?

30 to 35 dB(A) at the outlets in comfort mode. The unit itself is acoustically insulated and ideally placed in a plant room or attic.

  • What annual maintenance is needed?

Filter change twice a year, flow check, heat exchanger cleaning every 5 to 10 years. Our Qualiventil contracts cover everything.

  • Does an MVHR system use a lot of electricity?

A modern unit consumes 60 to 120 W on average — about CHF 100 to 200 of electricity per year. Heat recovery far outweighs this consumption.
